Before enrolling your child into any center, make
sure to review their Parent Handbook to see if you
have any remaining questions regarding anything
that they have reviewed with you. Take note of all of
the information provided to you throughout the
enrollment process that you will have to incorporate
into your family’s lives and daily routines, such as
drop-off and pick-up times, whether or not lunches
and snacks will be provided, if there are any class-
room allergies to be aware of, sick policies, etc.
To effectively and efficiently communicate with
family members, no center should ever only utilize
one form of communication, and instead, should use
a mix of written, verbal, and electronic methods.
Inquire about what daily communication tool or
application is used to keep you updated and informed
about your child’s daily enrichment and progress.
Some centers still are using a traditional paper work-
sheet style form that can be provided to family mem-
bers at the end of each school day, while most have
migrated over to using digital platforms that allow for
real-time updates, photos, and communication
between parents and teachers/staff. Any digital
family communication platform will have a mobile
application that is available for download so family
